Starting a new project based of a concept of Dune's Chani wearing a stillsuit created by Devon Cady-Lee
Trying out a new process where I start out with a simple zsphere mesh and block out the figure, right now I've blocked out the muscles and in the process of making adjustments to better fit proportions of the concept.

Adventuress WIP 12







I decided she needed a much better representation for her hair for the Commencement show, so while I'm texturing her I'm also going to be working on fixing that up. I'm thinking that rather than the feather sort of approach I took with the top part of the hair, I'd create an underlying geometry to give the hair the needed mass while also using it for the hair on the back of the head...
I need critique, I'm literally not leaving my desk this weekend to get this textured and the hair right for commencement! Thanks!

I was wondering about the shading problems I'm having wherever the shoulder meets the tanktop or wherever there is some sort of angle. I'd fix those problems with props by either adding more geometry, or editing the normals of the verts. Would I approach it in a similar way in this case?

I'm trying to make sense of it while also trying to figure out how exactly to screen-cap this that it makes sense... I decided to start out with the notorious SHOULDER!

Adventuress WIP 8

Just a small update with the final detail pass on the boots, I wanted to make sure they looked like cowboy boots, so I added a design. It's the last detail I'm probably going to do until I move on to the low poly.
